FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team completed the season sweep of Siena Heights on Saturday afternoon with a 23-10 win at Warrior Athletic Field in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.
Tech got off to a quick start as they scored three goals in the first two minutes of the game to take the early lead. The Saints would counter with their first goal at the 26:39 mark of the first half, but that would be as close as they would get as the Warriors would hold an 11-3 lead with 20 minutes gone in the half before heading into the locker room leading 15-6.
The visitors would score the first goal of the second half 52 seconds in, but the Orange and Black would go on an 8-0 spurt over a 16 minute span to put the game away.
Sam Vikstrom led the way with a career-high eight goals while causing 13 turnovers and picking up 13 ground balls.
Heidi Tremaine would add four goals while
Bailey Childs notched a hat trick.
Kristina Scott dished out four assists while
McKenna Mesclier added three assists of her own.
Sydney Davis made five saves in the win.
Tech (11-1, 7-1 WHAC) returns to action Tuesday as they travel to Lawrence Tech for the makeup of their postponed game from March 15. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. from the LTU Athletic Fields.
