Tech Gets Back on Track with Rout of Crusaders

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team defeated Madonna, 18-3, on Friday evening in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) contest at Warrior Athletic Field.
 
Jennifer Banks would give the Warriors a 1-0 lead just 19 seconds into the game while Bailey Childs followed that up with a goal 23 seconds after that to make a 2-0 game. McKenna Mesclier would then score twice in the 28th minute to double the lead to 4-0 and the rout was on.
 
The Crusaders would get on the scoreboard at the 22:09 mark to make it a 5-1 game, but the Orange and Black would respond with a 12-0 run and went into the half up 12-1 and tacked on five goals to start the second half as they improved to 9-4 in conference games.
 
Mesclier and Childs finished with a game-high four goals each, while Sam Vikstrom added three goals and three caused turnovers. Childs would add seven draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers and Dakota Dawson tallied three assists.
 
Tech (13-4, 9-4 WHAC) concludes the regular season Saturday as they host Concordia in their "Lymphoma Game". Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
