FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 6-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team concluded its home schedule on Saturday evening as they defeated Concordia, 21-7, on Senior Night at Warrior Athletic Field in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action.
The Cardinals would take the lead just 70 seconds into the game as Brendan Beerer beat
Connor Boyce for the first goal of the game. The Warriors would respond quickly though as senior
Adam Cole tied it up at 1-1 with a goal 61 seconds later to spark a 5-0 run over the next nine minutes.
Tech would continue to pour it on in the second as they outscored the visitors 8-1 in the period, with
Will McKinney scoring four goals in the quarter to move up to 55 on the season, as the hosts took a 14-3 lead at the half.
Seniors
Lee Raymond and
Aidan Cahill both score in the second half to give the Warriors another feel-good story to cap their regular season home schedule while cruising to the win in their conference finale.
McKinney finished with a game-high five goals,
Brandon Gates added four, while Cahill and
Chandler Peterson recorded a hat trick. Raymond added 16 ground balls while going 13-21 in the faceoff circle. Boyce made 12 saves in goal to pick up his first win of the season.
Tech (10-3, 6-1 WHAC) returns to action next Friday as they travel to St. Louis, Missouri for a matchup with No. 10-ranked University of Saint Mary (Kan.). Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. EDT from Christian Brothers College High School.
