HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team rebounded from a tough loss in their season opener Saturday by defeating regional rival Huntington, 2-1, in their first road game of the year on Wednesday evening at King Stadium.
The Foresters would strike first with a goal in the 11
th minute to go ahead 1-0 over the Warriors and held a 6-1 advantage in shots headed into the final minute of the half, but
Andrew Higgins would tie the game up at one-all with a header in the 45
th minute, sneaking in behind the defense to head in
James Ohms through ball.
Tech would catch a break 15 minutes into the second half as a Huntington defender would head in a ball for an own goal to give the visitors a 2-1 lead that would hold true for the final 30 minutes of action.
The Orange and Black would hold the hosts to zero shots on goal in the second half while
Edwin Rosado would pick up his first win in goal while making three saves. Higgins would lead the team in shots on goal with two.
Tech (1-1) returns to action Saturday as they continue their string of four-straight Crossroads League opponents to open the season by playing host to Taylor. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
