Tech Uses Two-Goal First Half to Down Trojans

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team used a pair of first half goals to win their second game of the season with a 2-1 victory over nonconference foe Taylor on Saturday afternoon at Warrior Athletic Field.

Brennan Cochran would put the Warriors on the board first in the 19th minute as he headed in the through ball from Matt Robinson for his first goal of the year. Oswaldo Segura Diaz would make it 2-0 Tech with his first goal of the season in the 45th minute, blasting one from the top of the box off the cross from Malte Dennert.

The Trojans would cut the deficit in half in the 85th minute, taking advantage of a misplay inside Tech's box to make things interesting, but the Warrior defense would hold strong in the final five minutes of the game and not allow a shot on goal from the visitors.

Cochran and Segura Diaz would each record two shots on goal while Edwin Rosado made five saves in net to pick up the win.

Tech (2-1-0) returns to action on Saturday as they host crosstown foe University of Saint Francis in the Fort Wayne Derby. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
