Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team opened up its 2017-18 season on Sunday afternoon as they defeated NCAA Division III foe Earlham, 8-1.
 
The Warriors got out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping through doubles action, with the first flight (Fernando Sousa/Tiago Neves) and second flight (Rui Lima/Alvaro Garrido) winning 8-5 and 8-6, respectively. The third flight of Alvaro Gomez and Pablo Bono would win a tight 9-8 decision after taking the tie breaker, 8-6.
 
Neves would record a double bagel (6-0, 6-0) at second flight in singles action while Lima and Garrido would each win in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, and 6-3, 6-2, respectively.
 
Tech (1-0) returns to action on Thursday, September 16 as they open up play at the ITA Midwest Regionals, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan. First serve is set for 9 a.m. from the Sutter Tennis Center.
