MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team recently completed three days of action at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan, this weekend, with two student-athletes reaching the round of 16 and one reaching the quarterfinals.

Fernando Sousa won his first two matches in straight sets, surrendering just seven games, before falling to fifth-ranked Iustin Baciu of University of Northwestern Ohio in the round of 16, 6-1, 6-4.
Tiago Neves would pull off the upset of the weekend as he beat second-ranked Radu Popa of UNOH, 6-4, 4-6, 11-9, in a first round matchup and advanced all the way to the quarterfinals before falling to Baciu, 6-0, 6-0, who would go on to win the singles championship.

Lucas Braga would claim the B-Draw Doubles championship with a perfect record of three days of competition.
Tech returns to dual action on Tuesday, September 19, as they travel to Goshen College. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m. from the Goshen College Tennis Complex.
