Warriors Silence Thunder in 6-3 Win

Box Score ANGOLA, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated Trine University, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon in nonconference action at Ryan Tennis Center.

The Thunder would hold the early advantage through doubles playing by taking two of the possible three points, with the Warriors second flight of Tiago Neves and Alvaro Gomez winning 8-3 to stave off the doubles shutout.

Tech would come roaring back in singles action though, taking the first three matches to get to match point while Alejandro Gomez battled back to split sets and give the Orange and Black the win with a 5-7, 6-0, 10-6 victory at six singles.

Tiago Neves (6-1, 6-3), Rui Lima (6-2, 6-1), Alvaro Garrido (6-1, 6-2) and Pablo Bono (7-5, 6-0) would all pick up straight set wins at first, second, third and fourth flight, respectively.

Tech (2-1) returns to action on Saturday, September 30 as they host Taylor in a nonconference match over Homecoming Weekend. First serve is set for 9 a.m. from Kreager Park.
