Warriors Throttle Racers for Eighth Straight Win

LIMA, Ohio – The No. 10-ranked Indiana Tech women's basketball team won its eighth straight game on Saturday afternoon, defeating Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) foe University of Northwestern Ohio, 80-46, to match its early season eight-game winning streak, at the Garage.
 
Haley Cook scored a game-high 19 points and dished out three assists while Kendall Knapke had 16 points and seven rebounds. Keanna Gary continued to rack up the double-doubles as she recorded her 13th of the season with 12 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. DeAnn Kauffman chipped in 10 points off the bench while Isis Parker grabbed nine rebounds. Bella Lozano-Dobbs dished out a season-best seven assists and Baylee Rinehart had seven points off the bench.
 
The Warriors would start off the game with back-to-back three pointers from Knapke and Cook while racing out to a 17-5 lead in the first five and a half minutes of the contest. Tech would continue to improve their advantage in the first quarter and ended the first 10 minutes leading 23-11.
 
The stellar offensive performance from the Orange and Black would continue into the second as the visitors broke off a 15-0 run to extend their lead to 44-21 with 3:56 in the period while holding the Racers scoreless for four minutes and 22 seconds during their outbreak.
 
Leading 49-27 at halftime, the tenth-ranked team in the nation continued to push the pace over UNOH, outscoring the hosts 18-8 in the third and limiting the Racers to just 11 points in the fourth quarter, while they led by as 37 points in the game.
 
Tech (17-2, 8-1 WHAC) returns to action on Wednesday, January 10 as they host Rochester College in a conference showdown. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
