Warriors Finish Off Regular Season with 75-60 Win over Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech men's basketball team concluded their 2018 regular season on the road Saturday afternoon where they defeated Concordia, 72-60, in WHAC (Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference) action.

Dylan Phair led the way for the Warriors with 16 points, while Edmond Early, Jr. came off the bench to add 13 points of his own. Scott Schwieterman rounded out the contest with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Phair helped get Tech going early in the game, as they pushed their lead to nine with just under five minutes gone in the game with back-to-back baskets. The offense would remain strong through the first 10 minutes with a basket from Schwieterman giving the visitors a 21-14 advantage with 9:48 remaining.

The Cardinals attempted to cut down the Warriors lead, after trailing by as much as nine in the half, at the 1:50 mark where they would come within four as time ticked down. After holding the lead the entire first 20 minutes of action, the Orange and Black would head into the break leading 39-31.

Tech remained just ahead of their opponents in the early minutes of the second half, holding close to a six-point lead through six minutes of play. As Concordia's attempt to find a share of the lead came close, with the Warriors leading 47-44 at the 11:48 mark, the Orange and Black offense heated up behind a basket from Phair to grant them a double digit lead with under 10 minutes to play in regulation.

That lead continued to grow, to as much as 15 with a 70-55 advantage with just a tick under three minutes left to play. Max Huber closed things out with a late score, eventually pushing Tech to the 72-60 victory.

The Warriors (25-5, 17-3 WHAC) will begin play in the WHAC Tournament this Wednesday as the fields' number two seed when they host seventh-seeded Siena Heights in the quarterfinals at the Schaefer Center with tip set for 7 p.m.
