NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The No. 5-ranked Indiana Tech wrestling team returned to dual action Friday evening as they took down NCAA Division III foe Manchester, 37-9, inside Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
Sawyer Miller started things off with a 15-3 major decision to give Tech the first lead of the match. After a win by the Spartans at 133-lbs., the Warriors responded with six consecutive victories to seal the win over their regional rival.
Gaige Torres would pick up a tightly-contest 5-4 decision at 141-lbs. while
Jonathan Watkins (157) and
Tyler Moser (184) pinned their opponents at 2:46 and 1:13, respectively.
Justin Atkinson (149) and
Jake Weimer (174) won by tech falls 2:29 and 3:56, respectively, while
Mason Gaines had a 15-2 major decision at 165-lbs.
Dylan Cain closed out the match with a pin at 1:40 to give Tech the 37-9 win.
Tech (11-6) concludes the regular season on Thursday, February 8, as they host Sooner Athletic Conference rival Lourdes on Senior Night. Action is set to get underway at 7 p.m. from the Schaefer Center.
