BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team defeated Lindenwood University – Belleville, 17-3, on Thursday evening in their season opener at Lindenwood Stadium.
Heidi Tremaine opened up the scoring with a goal at 24:19 as the Warriors scored the first 12 goals of the game and led 12-0 at the half. Tremaine score five goals in the first half of play and finished the game with six goals, just one of her career high.
The Lynx would get on the scoreboard with 27:59 to play in the game, but they would only muster two more scores against the stout Warrior defense, who only allowed just eight total shots and five shots on goal.
Sydney Davis made one save in the win while
Kristina Scott led the team in ground balls with four.
Tech (1-0) returns to action Friday as they battle Missouri Baptist in Belleville, Illinois. Opening draw is set for 4 p.m. from Lindenwood Stadium.
