FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated Cornerstone, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) opener at Wildwood Racquet Club.

The Golden Eagles took a 2-1 lead after doubles play, with the third flight of Brunno Storani and Lucas Braga picking up the lone Warriors win. Cornerstone extended their lead to 4-2 following the first three matches of singles play, but that would be the last CU win of the day as Tech took the final three matches to complete the comeback.

Rui Lima started the comeback with a win by retirement at third flight while Alvaro Gomez took a 6-4, 6-4 win at sixth flight to even the match at 4-4. Pablo Bono rallied a 6-1 first set loss to take the second set, 7-6 (9) and then held off Dan Ribbink for the 6-4 third set win to give the Warriors their fifth victory of the day.

Tech (2-9) returns to action on Sunday as they host Olivet in a 10 a.m. first serve from Wildwood Racquet Club.
