FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team completed their 2018 spring regular season topping Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) opponent, Concordia (Mich.), 9-0, Wednesday afternoon at Wildwood Racquet Club.
The Warriors began the contest by sweeping all three doubles matched to generate a 3-0 lead heading into singles action. The duo of
Lucas Braga and
Kudzai Toto started the run with an 8-0 victory at the three spot.
Alvaro Gomez and
Pablo Bono claimed the 8-2 decision at two doubles before
Rui Lima and
Alvaro Garrido completed the trifecta with an 8-1 win at the one hole.
Tech carried their momentum into singles play only dropping five games collectively around the board at the six singles spots. Garrido, Lima, Bono, and Toto each claimed a 6-0, 6-0 double bagel victory at the two through five singles spots respectively.
Brunno Storani would just drop one game, defeating his opponent 6-1, 6-0 for the victory at the one spot, and Gomez would round things out for the Orange and Black with a 6-0, 6-4 decision at six singles.
Indiana Tech (9-12, 2-3 WHAC) will start WHAC Tournament play this Friday, April 27 as they head up to Grand Rapids, Mich. to take on Aquinas in opening round action with a match time set to be determined.
