WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team picked up its first win of the season, and the first win for first-year head coach
Brock Orlowski, with a 5-4 victory over in-state rival Grace College Thursday.
The Warriors held a 2-0 advantage after doubles play with the second flight of
Rui Lima and
Alvaro Garrido and the third flight of
Brunno Storani and
Lucas Braga winning 8-4 and 8-6, respectively.
The fourth, fifth and sixth singles players of Lima, Garrido and
Pablo Bono picked up the final three victories over the Lancers with Lima winning 6-2, 6-1, Garrido coming from down a set to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 and Bono dropping just one set in the 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Tech (1-1) opens up its home slate on September 8 as they host Huntington University. First serve is set for 4 p.m. from Kreager Park.
