MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team completed a busy three days of competition this past weekend at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan.
The tandem of
Alvaro Garrido and
Rui Lima dropped their first match in the main doubles bracket, but battled all the back to the finals of the consolation bracket before falling to a team from IWU, 8-4.
Lucas Braga had an excellent tournament as he won the "B Draw" title with a 4-0 mark and did not drop a single set in the championships.
Tiago Neves started off his tournament 2-0 to advance to the second day in the main draw before falling in three sets to eventual champion Radu Popa of UNOH, 4-6, 6-1, 10-4.
Tech returns to action Tuesday as they travel to Hillsdale College for a nonconference matchup. First serve is set for 4 p.m. from the Delp Tennis Courts.
