UPLAND, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team ended its nonconference schedule on a high note as they defeated in-state rival Taylor University, 2-1, Saturday evening at Turner Stadium.
Richard Doll put the Warriors up 1-0 in the 27
th minute as he blasted one in from 20 yards out. The Trojans knotted the game up at 1-1 in the 49
th minute and had a pair of chances to take the lead, but
Edwin Rosado would stand firm and not allow another ball past him the rest of the night.
Tech regained the lead in the 80
th minute as
Jaxon Simerman notched his third goal of the season from 15 yards out. The visitors controlled the pace over the final 10 minutes to preserve the 2-1 win.
Rosado made four saves in goal to pick up his first win of the season.
Tech (4-3-0) now turns its attention to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play as they head to Aquinas College next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. from the Aquinas College Athletic Field.
