Tech Wins Seventh Straight Match with Shutout of Blue Devils

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team won its seventh straight match Saturday afternoon as they defeated Lawrence Technological University, 2-0, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play inside Blue Devils Stadium.

The win gives the Warriors seven victories and 21 points in the conference standings with four matches to go and a three-point lead over second-place Madonna University.

Noe Garcia tallied both goals for the Orange and Black and now has 11 on the season, the most in the WHAC this year. Edwin Rosado improved to 9-2-0 on the season with his second clean sheet and made one save, while his defense allowed just six shots in all.

The two sides battled their way through a scoreless first half, but the Warriors struck 26 seconds into the second half as Luke Jones found Garcia who beat LTU's Max Jewett through the five-hole. Garcia made it a 2-0 game just 13 minutes later and Tech's defense only allowed one shot on goal the rest of the match.

Tech (10-4-0, 7-0-0 WHAC) returns to action Wednesday as they travel to No. 15-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio, who currently sits at third in the WHAC standings. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Racer Soccer Field inside St. Rita's Sports Complex.
