Warriors Close Out Fall Season with Rout of Red Wolves

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team closed out their fall season in spectacular style Saturday afternoon as they dominated Indiana University East, 6-1, at the Swinney Tennis Center.

"I'm super proud of our fall efforts and am excited to see how we progress heading into the spring as we look for conference titles and national tournament berths," head coach Brock Orlowski said.

Tech rolled out to a 1-0 lead following a sweep of doubles play, with the second flight of Brunno Storani and Tiago Neves winning 6-3. Singles play was just as dominant for the Orange and Black, with Jafer Infante winning 6-1, 6-0 at fifth flight while the number six position was won in straight sets by Andres Leal, 6-0, 6-1.

Juan Avellaneda won 6-2, 6-1 at third singles while Alvaro Garrido clinched the match with a 6-2, 7-5 win at second flight.

"It was a great exclamation point to our fall season," Orlowski said. To finish out with a win at home is a great way to send us into the offseason on a good note and with some momentum."

Tech finishes the fall campaign with a 6-1 record and will return to action in the spring semester.
