FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team ran its winning streak to 20 games Friday evening inside the SportONE/Parkview Ice House as they defeated Concordia University, 6-3, in their final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) contest of the season.
Kristian Alafriz put Tech up 1-0 with 12:46 to go in the first while the Warriors added a pair of goals within the first 10 minutes of the second to go up 3-0 over the Cardinals. Concordia would not go away easily though, as they got on the scoreboard with 4:01 left in the period and added two goals in the last nine minutes of the third to make it a 5-3 game, but
Jimmie Kotilainen iced the game away with an empty-netter and 16 seconds left on the clock.
Seven different Warriors recorded an assist while
Bryson Linenburg made 10 saves to improve to 13-0-0 on the season.
Tech (25-3-0, 8-2-0 WHAC) concludes its home slate Saturday as they face off with Concordia in a nonconference matchup. Puck drop is set for 5:30 p.m. from the SportONE/Parkview Ice House.
