Tech Runs Win Streak to 21 Games in Senior Night Victory

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team defeated Concordia University, 8-3, on Saturday evening inside the SportONE/Parkview Ice House to run their winning streak to 21 games and secure the number one seed in next month's North American Intercollegiate Hockey Association (NAIHA) Tournament.

The Warriors got out to a quick start with Zach Bennett scoring twice in the first six minutes of the game while getting assists from senior teammates Jarrett Pfeiffer and Adam Jonak. Jonak notched his first goal of the game with 11:51 left in the first period to make it a 3-0 game while Bennett scored on a power play at the 5:09 mark to collect his first career hat trick.

Tech added two goals in the second and third periods to run their record against NAIHA teams to 22-1 on the season and they finished atop the regular season standings for the first time in program history.

Ryan O'Toole made 19 saves on the night to improve to 13-3-0 while Pfeiffer notched five assists in the final home game of his career. Jonak and Bennett each finished the night with five points each.

Tech (26-3-0) returns to action next weekend as they take on Lindenwood University-Belleville in their final series of the regular season. Friday's puck drop is set for 10 p.m. EST from the Shark Tank.
