LOUISVILLE – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team got back on the winning track Monday afternoon as they defeated NCAA Division II foe Bellarmine University, 6-1, at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
Tech swept through doubles play to take a 1-0 lead in the match, with the first flight of
Tiago Neves and
Brunno Storani winning 7-6 (2) while
Alvaro Gomez and
Andres Leal won 6-3 at third flight.
Neves split sets at first flight but battled back to emerge victorious, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 while Storani won 6-2, 6-1.
Rui Lima netted a double bagel at fifth flight while
Alvaro Garrido won 6-3, 6-1 at fourth flight.
Tech (6-8) continues their spring break tip Tuesday as they take on No. 9-ranked Campbellsville University. First serve is set for 11 a.m. from the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.
