SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team defeated Lawrence Tech, 6-3, on Wednesday afternoon in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action inside the Franklin Athletic Club.
The Blue Devils got out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play with victories at first and second flight while the third flight of
Alvaro Gomez and Andres Leas won 8-2. The Warriors responded with five victories in singles play, with
Brunno Storani winning 6-1, 6-1 at second flight while
Pablo Bono won 6-3, 6-1 at sixth flight.
Leal (7-5, 6-2),
Alvaro Garrido (6-4, 6-2) and
Rui Lima (7-5, 6-2) also won their respective matches at third, fourth and fifth flight, respectively.
Tech (5-7, 1-1 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they take on former WHAC foe Davenport University to start their Spring Break trip. Action is set to get underway at 1 p.m. from the MVP Sportsplex.
