GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team fell to former conference foe and NCAA Division II opponent Davenport University, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon inside MVP Sportsplex.
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead after doubles play with victories at first and third flight, while the second flight of
Rui Lima and
Alvaro Garrido won 6-4. The Warriors picked up wins in singles action from
Brunno Storani (6-2, 6-2), Andreas Leal (6-3, 6-3) and
Pablo Bono (6-4, 6-0) at second, third and sixth flight, respectively, but Davenport won the other three matches to take the slim victory.
Tech (5-8) returns to action on Monday as they travel to NCAA Division II foe Bellarmine University. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from the Eddie Webber Tennis Center.
