KOKOMO, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's tennis team defeated Indiana University Kokomo, 6-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Foster Park to extend their winning streak to four matches and end their regular season on a high note.
Vero Jimenez and
Dominique Michelet won 8-1 at first flight while
Martina Borges and
Elena Tokic won 8-5 at second flight to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead following doubles play.
Jimenez continued her impressive week with another double bagel at one singles while Borges dropped just one game at second flight. Michelet won 6-2, 6-0 at third singles while Tokic was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at the number one spot.
Tech (6-11) now turns its attention to postseason play as they head into the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament as the number five seed and travel to fourth-seeded Cornerstone University for a quarterfinal contest Thursday. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m. from the Grand Rapids Racquet Club.
