DURHAM, N.C. – The Indiana Tech men's outdoor track and field team had several impressive performances this past weekend as they competed at the Duke Invitational inside the Morris Williams Track and Field Stadium.
Coby Bailey finished fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 10.51 while
Brandon Smiley was right behind in 10.55 to finish in fifth while both times were good enough for the NAIA "A" standard. Both men would set career-bests in the race. Smiley would take second in the 200m with a time of 21.02, his best wind-legal time of the season.
Bailey and
Jesse Frimpong would both hit the provisional mark in the 110m hurdles at 14.86 and 14.79, respectively. The 4x100m relay of
Logan Bloir, Qawtavis Johnson, Bailey and Smiley would take first in 40.43 to hit the automatic qualifying standard.
Dylan Bikim cleared 2.02m/6-7.5 in the high jump to take seventh and hit the "B" standard while
Malik Johnson set a season-best in the triple jump at 14.53m/47-8 to take ninth and hit the "A" standard.
Tech returns to action on Thursday with the start of the Gina Relays, hosted by Hillsdale College.
