TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's track teams were at the Indiana State Gibson Invitational this past weekend, where the men would finish 7th overall and the women 20th. The men's 4x100m relay team of
Javion Westfield,
Davarri Barthell,
Deonsae Dorsey, and
Esau Haynes would highlight the meet, hitting an 'A' standard and earning a second-place finish with a time of 40.88 seconds.
Additional meet highlights:
Men's:
•
Esau Haynes finished fifth in the 100m dash at 10.81 seconds
•
Jackie Saye posted a PR of 14.55 in the 110m hurdles in a fifth-place finish, while
Javion Westfield came in eighth at 14.77
•
Giulio Romano came in second place in the 1500m run with a PR of 3:52.70, while
Liamm Passey posted a PR of 4:09.35
•
Juan Caballero finished second in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:41.17
•
Jayden Tillman finished sixth in javelin with a PR 50.30m throw
•
Woodrow Smith posted a 6.51m mark in the long jump to finish ninth
• In the pole vault,
Jayden Packer recorded a PR and NAIA #16 mark of 4.75m to finish fifth, while
Angel Toledo and
Victor Rodriguez both cleared 4.45m to finish ninth and eleventh respectively
Women's:
•
Kiya Pogue finishes fourth and hits a 'B' standard in the 100m hurdles with a season best and NAIA #6 best time of 14.10 seconds. Pogue would also run a season best 12.13 seconds in the 100m dash finishing seventh
•
Alina LaForest and
Abby Plezia would both record new PR's in the 400m hurdles with times of 1:05.67 and 1:06.31 respectively
•
Skotti Ball-Duley would finish seventh in the 800m race with a PR of 2:16.75 and
Genesis Borom would also record a PR of 2:30.70
•
Emma Longeuay would finish eighth in the javelin with a throw of 38.11m
•
Viviana Rodriguez posted a vault of 3.60m to finish seventh, while
Hollyn Renfro recorded a season best 3.45m to finish 12th
The Warriors will be back in action on Wednesday and Thursday, April 23rd and 24th when they compete in the Walsh Tune-Up Meet at Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio.
