Warriors Repeat as WHAC Champions With Unbeaten Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. & HOWELL, Mich. – The No. 21-ranked Indiana Tech baseball team concluded their regular season this weekend with a 3-0-1 mark as they defeated Cornerstone University, 13-0, tied Cornerstone, 4-4 on Saturday at Warrior Field on Senior Day, and swept Cleary University with 10-0 and 15-0 wins on Sunday at Lake Trust Stadium. Without a loss on their record this weekend the Warriors repeated as Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Champions and earned the number one seed in next week's WHAC Tournament and the conference's first automatic bid to the NAIA National Baseball Championship Opening Round in May.

It is the eighth time in program history that Tech has won the regular season WHAC crown and the third time under head coach Kip McWilliams. The Warriors are now tied with Madonna University for the most titles in WHAC history.

The Orange and Black will now host fourth-seeded Concordia University (Mich.) and fifth-seeded University of Northwestern Ohio in the opening round of the WHAC Tournament May 2-3 at Warrior Field. Concordia and UNOH will kick off the round robin pod play at 12 pm Thursday while the Warriors will play the losing team first at 3 p.m. and then the winner of game one at 6 p.m.
