FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team continued their torrid start to the season with a 5-2 victory over Goshen College Saturday afternoon at Swinney Tennis Center.
The Warriors trailed coming out of doubles with just one win coming from the second flight of
Tiago Neves and
Juan Avellaneda in a 6-1 triumph. Tech found its stride in singles action though as they won five of the six matches to cruise to the victory.
Raybin Chan and
Jafer Infante picked up straight set victories at fourth and sixth flight with 6-5, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-0 decisions, respectively.
Alvaro Garrido battled back from a tough first-set loss to win 6-7 (5), 6-3, 10-3 at the fifth position while Avellaneda won 6-4, 7-5 (5) at the third spot. Neves picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at second flight.
Tech (4-0) returns to action on Sunday as they host Shawnee State University. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from Swinney Tennis Center.
