MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's tennis team went 1-1 this weekend at the Indiana Wesleyan Fall Invitational, falling to the host Wildcats, 4-0, on Thursday before defeating Judson University 4-2 on Friday morning. Friday evening's match with Indiana University Southeast was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up in the spring, while Saturday's home match with Taylor University was canceled due to the threat of weather.
 
The Warrior gave the No. 22-ranked Wildcats all they could handle Thursday evening, but got into an early hole with the hosts sweeping doubles play while not dropping a set in singles play to clinch the win.
 
Tech rebounded on Friday morning as they won all three matches in doubles against Judson, with the first flight of Alvaro Garrido and Alvaro Gomez won 6-1 to set the tone. Garrido won his match at fifth position in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, while Jafer Infante won 7-6 (4), 7-5 to bring the Warriors within match point. Raybin Chan clinched the win for the Orange and Black by outlasting his opponent in three sets, 7-6 (2), 3-6, 7-5.
 
Tech (5-1) concludes its fall slate on Saturday, October 5 as they host Indiana University East in a Homecoming match. First serve is set for 12 p.m. from Swinney Tennis Center.
