DEARBORN, Mich. – The No. 8-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to No. 6-ranked University of Michigan-Dearborn, 6-1, Friday evening in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) action inside the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
Francesco Corona scored the lone goal of the night for the Warriors
Ryan O'Toole made 17 saves in relief.
The Wolverines came out on fire to begin the game, scoring three times in the first 10 minutes of the game, with the second two coming on the power play off the stick of Nic LaBurn. UM-Dearborn scored twice more before the period ended to take a 5-0 lead into the first intermission.
Corona tallied his 11
th goal of the season at the 11:59 mark of the second, but the hosts would answer quickly with a goal at the 7:29 mark of the period while only allowing six shots on goal in the final 20 minutes of the game.
Tech (16-5-1, 10-3-0 WHAC) returns to action on Saturday as they conclude their weekend set with UM-Dearborn. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. from the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena.
