Tech held the early advantage over the Eagles and used a 5-2 run to run their lead to 13-9 and cause RU to call a timeout. The Warriors grew their lead up to 17-12, but the Eagles came back with a 6-1 run to knot the set up at 18 all. After exchanging ties over the next six points, the Warriors took advantage of three Eagle errors and an ace from Stewart to take the set 25-21 and go up 1-0 in the match.

The Orange and Black got out to a 13-6 run to begin the second set that was powered by a 6-0 run to give them the momentum. A 5-1 run from Tech push the lead to 19-10 and they were never threatened the rest of the set as they went up 2-0 in the match with the 25-16 win.

The third set was an offensive showcase with the Eagles hitting .393 on 28 swings while the Warriors hit .615 and recorded 18 kills on 26 attempts. A 3-0 run from Tech gave them a 22-17 advantage and forced Reinhardt to call a timeout after a 6-2 spurt from the Orange and Black. The Eagles came out of the timeout focused on forcing a fourth set as they went on a 5-1 run to pull within a point at 23-22. Tech came back with two of the next three points though to complete the sweep.

Ternent had a match-high 14 kills against Judson with a .462 attack percentage, four blocks and six digs. Stewart had 11 kills again while notching 11 digs for his first career double-double. Chandler Davis dished out 33 assists while Joey Hermes added 10 digs.

Despite out-hitting the Eagles .333 to .241, the Warriors found themselves down 1-0 in the match as Judson took the first set 25-21. Tech came out swinging in the second set again with another .333 hitting clip while recording eight blocks.
