The two rivals took a while to get find their offensive groove as the first points weren't scored until the 17:14 mark of the first half thanks a three from McKinney while the Golden Eagles finally cracked the scoreboard at the 15:47 with a triple from Tyler Baker. The teams continued to trade leads and momentum swings over the next 10 minutes of the game until a 9-1 run from the visitors gave them a 24-16 lead with 2:39 to play until the half. Cornerstone carried the lead and momentum for the rest of the half as they took a 32-25 lead into the locker room.

Cornerstone slowly grew their lead to start the second half and built their advantage up to 12 points with 13:46 left in the game thanks to a 9-4 spurt. A basket from Luciani, who was playing extended minutes due to a first half injury to Josh Kline, sparked an 8-4 run for Tech that cut the deficit down to 50-42 with 10 minutes on the clock. That run was capped with a rainbow triple from Davison as the shot clock expired to ignite the Schaefer Center and brought the home fans to their feet as the Warriors clawed their way back into the game.

A triple from Dilyn Good brought the lead down to six points with 9:08 to go while he nailed another three with the shot clock winding down at the 6:43 mark to knot the game up at 54. That shot led to a 13-5 run for the hosts that was capped by a massive tomahawk dunk by Max Huber that baptized the masses and put the Warriors up 64-59 with 3:25 left to play. Cornerstone never recorded from the throw down as they only scored two more points the remainder of the game while coming away with the double-digit victory.
