COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Indiana Tech softball team was swept by No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson College in their season opener Thursday afternoon at Marilyn D. Sparks Park inside Lindsey Wilson Sports Park, falling 17-6 and 11-0 in five innings.

Ali LeNoue homered on the first pitch she saw in the second at-bat of the game to put Tech up 1-0 before putting up a four-spot in the second inning to make it a 5-0 lead. An RBI single from

Brianna Glass belted her first career home run on a 1-1 count to drive in three runs.
The defending Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament champions, and NAIA World Series participants came roaring back in the third inning though, scoring eight runs on seven hits to take the lead. Back-to-back hit batters was followed up a double and a three-run homer to cut the deficit to 5-4 before Lyric Houston knotted the game up at 5-5 with a solo shot in the next at-bat. Another hit batter was followed by four straight singles to tack on three more runs as the hosts went up 8-5.
The Blue Raiders continued to pour it on with nine more runs in the fourth, scoring all of their runs with two outs in the inning, with a grand slam accounting for more of the damage. Lindsey Wilson would get two more homers in the frame to tack on to their lead and took the opener 17-6.
LeNoue finished the game 2-2 with two runs.
Game two was all LWC from the start as they scored three runs in the first inning while tacking one three more runs in the third and putting up a five-spot in the fourth. Abby Whelan was efficient in the circle as she needed just 44 pitches to throw a perfect game.
Tech (0-2) returns to action Friday as they take on Union College in a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. from Union Field.
