FARMINGTION HILLS, Mich. – The No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech men's ice hockey team fell to Aquinas College, 4-1, Saturday evening in the semifinals of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament inside the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
Daniel Spannar scored the lone goal of the night for Tech while
Bryson Linenburg made 24 saves in goal.
After a scoreless opening period, Spannar gave Tech a 1-0 lead at the 17:36 mark in the second, only to see the Saints tie the game up on a power play with 9:11 remaining in the period. Trent Kulczyk scored twice in a six-minute stretch in the third period to give Aquinas a 3-1 lead before he assisted on the Saints fourth goal of the night with 5:04 remaining.
Tech (25-9-0) will now await their fate for the 2020 ACHA Men's Division I National Tournament, scheduled for March 19-24 in Frisco, Texas.
