EMERSON, Ga. – The No. 11-ranked Indiana Tech baseball team defeated Viterbo University, 9-3, Wednesday afternoon at Lake Point Sports Baseball Complex in what was their final game of their annual spring break trip.
Ashtin Moxey went 3-4 with two runs while
Jacob Alvidrez was 2-5 with two RBI.
Jacob Daftari went 2-3 with a double and drove in three runs while
Mike Snyder knocked in two runs with his 10
th home run of the season.
Ben Lambert went five innings on the mound to pick up the win, allowing just two runs (one earned), one three hits while
Kris Massey struck out five in 2.2 innings.
Daftari got the scoring started in the second with a double to right to knock in Moxey and
Christian De Los Santos while Alvidrez knocked in Daftari and
Cade McCoin three batters later to make it a 4-0 game. A leadoff triple from the V-Hawks led to their first run of the game one frame latter while a Tech error led to their second run of the game in the fifth to make it a 4-2 contest.
Moxey and Daftari both drove in runs in the bottom of the fifth following back-to-back-to-back singles from
Jake Ritson, Snyder and De Los Santos. Snyder put the game out of reach for good with a blast to center field to make it a 9-3 game.
Tech (11-5) is slated to be back in action March 21 as they open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play against Lawrence Technological University. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
