ATHENS, Tenn. – The No. 9-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team defeated Tennessee Wesleyan University, 14-4, Thursday afternoon at the TWU Soccer/Lacrosse Field in their nonconference finale.
Justin Hindman and
Andrew Ryan both notched a hat trick, with the latter dishing out three assists for a team-best six points.
Nate Langille and
Jaxon Koehl both scored twice while
Andrew Neller had seven ground balls and 14-19 in the face-off zone.
Evan Schuster made four saves in the win, playing 45 minutes in the cage.
Ryan got the scoring started just 48 seconds into the game while Langille and Noah Pynne scored just 32 seconds apart with under three minutes to go in the first quarter to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead after 15 minutes of play. The two teams traded goals over the first five minutes of the second quarter, but a goal from Koehl and a man-up goal from Ryan pushed Tech's lead to 7-3 at the end of the first half. The Warrior offense was turning on all cylinders in the third as they outscored the Bulldogs 5-0 to put the game away for good.
Tech (3-1) is slated to return to action on Saturday, March 21 as they travel to Concordia University (Mich.) to begin Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play. Opening face-off is set for 4 p.m. from Cardinal Stadium.
