CUMBERLANDS, Ky. – The Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team fell to No. 2-ranked Benedictine College, 16-2, Sunday afternoon inside the UC Lacrosse Complex on the campus of the University of the Cumberlands.
Abbey Wilson and
Abigail Spencer each scored once for Tech, while
Halli Reinhard and Spencer tallying assists.
Maddi Jarvis and
Anna Hartman each had three ground balls, with the former making a career-high 21 saves in the loss.
The Warriors kept the Ravens close to the ground in the first half, trailing just 4-1 with 10 minutes to go after Wilson netted Tech's first goal of the game. Benedictine scored twice in the final 30 seconds though while short-handed to give them a 6-1 lead at the break.
The Ravens took off in the second half with four goals in the first six minutes to extend their advantage to 11-1 and were never threatened as they limited Tech to just eight shots on goal.
Tech (1-3) returns to action on March 18 as they travel to No. 5-ranked Lawrence Technological University for their conference opener. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. from Blue Devils Stadium.
