FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team defeated the University of Northwestern Ohio, 3-1 (25-17, 29-31, 25-7, 25-13), Wednesday evening inside the Schaefer Center in the team's annual Dig Pink match.

Emma Westra notched a season-best 17 kills while hitting .359 while Taylor Paul recorded 13 kills to go along with a .270 hitting percentage. Tech started off the match on a 3-0 run and grew the lead to 8-4, but the Racers stormed back to tie the set up at 8-8 following a 4-0 run. The Warriors responded with a 7-3 burst to go up 15-11, including a 4-0 run after UNOH had tied the game up at 11. The Orange and Black never let the lead dip under two again in the set as they used a 5-0 run to pull away at 21-14 to take the opening set.

Tech controlled the second set early with an 11-6 advantage, but the visitors came racing back to tie the set up at 20-20, one of 10 ties in the second set. UNOH won four of the next five points to take a 24-22 lead, but the Warriors answered back with three straight points to go up 25-24. After trading the next nine points, the Racers got back to set point thanks to an ace from Jessica Schaad and were the beneficiaries of a bad set to even the match up at 1-1.

The Warriors turned up the heat in the third with a 6-0 run to push their early lead to 10-3 that was powered by back-to-back aces from Schriver. Following two quick points from the Racers, Tech got back to work with a 10-0 run behind the serve of Katrina Reynolds to make it a 20-5 lead as the hosts got back on top 2-1.

The Orange and Black took the opening serve of the fourth and never looked back as they raced ahead to an 11-6 lead and pushed the advantage to 19-9 following an 8-2 fun that featured four kills from Westra. The Racers were unable to recover as the Warriors cruised to the 25-13 win to take the match 3-1.
