SYLVANIA, Ohio – The No. 11-ranked Indiana Tech women's wrestling team kicked off its second season with a resounding 48-0 win over No. 19-ranked Lourdes University Friday evening inside the Russel J. Ebeid Recreation Center.
Taylor Wilson got things started early with a fall just 40 seconds into the match at 101-lbs. while All-American
Tehani Soares got a 10-0 tech fall in the first period to make it 9-0 Tech.
Korigan Wilkey got a 10-0 tech fall with 2:21 in the first while
Sharon Leon notched a pin at 2:22 at 130-lbs. to put the Warriors up 23-0 midway through the match.
Carley Anderson and
Maia Crumb ended the dual with pins at 5:05 and 2:55 at 143 and 155-lbs., respectively, to give the Warriors the 48-0 win. Lourdes did not have wrestlers for the 123, 136, 170 and 191-lbs. bouts.
Tech (1-0) returns to action on November 13 as they take part in the Adrian College Duals. Meet time is set for 11 a.m. from the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center.
