GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 4-ranked Indiana Tech men's wrestling team had an impressive showing at the Cornerstone Quad Meet Friday afternoon inside Mol Arena, defeating Muskegon Community College, 34-6, the Grand Valley State University club team 41-9 and Cornerstone University 54-3.

Tech took the opening match at 125-lbs. via forfeit while Muskegon got the win at 133-lbs. to cut the deficit to 6-3.
Kyle Kantola picked up a 10-4 victory at 141-lbs. to start a four-match winning streak for the Warriors with
Corey Cavanaugh and
Nate Wheeler picking up falls while
Nick Gates notched a 7-4 win. After a Jayhawk win at 174-lbs., the Orange and Black wrapped up the dual with three straight wins from
Nick Brandt, Jacob Brant and
Cameron Mayes-Butler by scores of 6-5, 9-7 and 12-3, respectively.
Grand Valley State Recap
The Lakers took the first two matches by decision before a pin from Kantola started a five-match winning streak for Tech that included a pin from
Mike Loney, a tech fall from
Nate Wheeler and a pair of forfeits that put the Warriors ahead 29-6 to secure the win.
Cornerstone Recap
The Warriors took advantage of seven forfeits by the first-year Golden Eagles program while getting falls from Gates and Mayes-Butler in a match that was over before the bus even left Fort Wayne.
Tech now sits at 5-1 in dual action (Muskegon and Grand Valley do not count towards team records due being NJCAA and club teams) and returns to action December 29-30 as
Conner Gimson,
Matthew Gimson and
Eric Vermillion compete in the 58
th Ken Kraft Midlands Championships in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
