JACK ALLEN SOCCER COMPLEX, DECATUR, Ala. - The Indiana Tech men's soccer team faced off against the University of Mobile Rams, on Thursday night, Dec. 2, in a quarterfinal match of the 63rd Annual NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. Thursday's match was the first match played at the final site in Decatur, Ala. for both teams this season and the second time the two programs have faced one another. Indiana Tech was defeated by Mobile in the 2019 NAIA Men's Soccer Opening Round for their first meeting. Last night, a winner was not decided after playing 110 minutes, forcing the first penalty shootout of the Final Site Bracket. Mobile came away on the winning end, advancing 4-3 on PK's.
The game was extremely hard-fought, as both teams came into the contest ranked top-10 in the country in terms of fewest goals allowed. Indiana Tech managed 11 shots throughout the contest, with none of them being on goal until the shootout. For Mobile, they had 16 shots, seven of them being on goal.
Jaume Salvado played a terrific game in goal for the Warriors, making several tremendous saves, making seven on the night.
Indiana Tech finished their historic season 18-1-4, tying the 2020-21, 1983, and 1981 squads for the most wins in a season in program history.
