Warriors Breeze Past Saints in Regular Season Finale

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's basketball team ended the regular season Tuesday evening with an 84-67 victory over Siena Heights University inside the Siena Heights Fieldhouse.

The Warriors finish the season with an 18-8 mark and a 9-2 record in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) games to finish second in the league. Tech opens up play in the WHAC Tournament Thursday as they host seventh-seeded Aquinas College in an 8 p.m. tip-off from the Schaefer Center.

Rog Stein and Josh Kline both had a game-high 17 points, with the former grabbing five rebounds and the latter dishing out three assists and grabbing two boards. Cory McKinney had 11 points, six rebounds and three steals.

The game got off to a hot start as the two teams were locked up at 8-8 with three minutes off the clock. The back-and-forth affair continued with a 16-16 tie at the 13:07 mark, but the Warriors would make their move shortly after. A bucket from Lucas Lehrman stared a 24-11 run over the final 12 minutes of the half, which featured an 8-0 from the visitors to make it a 30-20 lead at the 6:12 mark. Tech continued its hot shooting as they entered the locker room leading 40-27 after going 15-27 from the floor.

The Warriors hot shooting continued into the second half as they went 17-27 from the floor, with only two players missing more than two attempts over the final 20 minutes of play. Tech pushed their lead up to 50-32 with 16:01 to go, matching their largest lead of the game, but the Saints came roaring back with a 16-8 run to make it a 58-48 game with 10:14 on the clock. A pair of free throws from Stein pushed the lead back up to 12 though, and SHU was never able to cut the deficit any closer as Tech swept the season series.
