FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Both men's and women's tennis defeat Mount Vernon Nazarene 7-0 yesterday.
The women opened the day with
Vero Jimenez and
Marianna Murcia in the number one doubles position with a 6-0 victory.
Carolina Fabbri and
Thaina Carvalho partnered up at the number two doubles for another 6-0 win while
Kaitlyn Fiedler and
Taylor Fiedler earned their first collegiate doubles victory at the number three 6-1.
Tech then went on to have
Jimenez win at the number one with a 6-1 and 6-0 set wins while
Murcia dominated at the number two with two 6-0 set wins.
Isidora Hrnjak won at the number three with a 6-0 and 6-1 set wins.
Martina Borges then competed for the Warriors at number four with 6-1 and 6-2 victories while
Ana Gomez played at the number five and won 6-0 and 6-1.
Chloe Smithley completed the sweep for Tech with two 6-0 set wins.
The men started with
Brunno Storani and
Agustin Cortes in the number one doubles spot where they won 6-2.
Raybin Chan and
Jafer Infante competed at the number two and recorded a 6-1 win while
Tyler Sinclair and
Kayra Kargin held strong at the number three and won 6-0.
Storani then went on to compete at the number one singles position and won 6-0 and 6-3 before
Agustin Cortes won his match at number two 6-0 and 6-1.
Kargin recorded two 6-1 set victories at the number three and
Chan swept at the number four with two 6-0 set wins. Both
Infante and
Sinclair won their matches with two 6-0 set wins to earn the sweep for the Warriors.
Both the men and women are back on the court Friday, March 19
th when they host conference rival Aquinas at 1 p.m.
