FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's tennis sweeps Spring Arbor in a non-conference match earlier today.
The regionally ranked duo
Vero Jimenez and
Marianna Murcia won at the number one doubles position 6-0 while
Thaina Carvalho and
Carolina Fabbri won at the number two 6-2.
Abigail Simms and
Martina Borges competed at the number three position and also won 6-2 for the Warriors to win all three doubles matches.
Jimenez then proved her #18 regional ranking when she won at the number one singles position 6-0 and 6-1.
Murcia showed her skill as the #8 in the region and the most recent WHAC Player of the Week at the number two with 6-0 and 6-2 set victories.
Simms won at the number three 6-3 and 6-1 while
Borges won as the number four 6-3 and 6-2.
Ana Gomez competed at the number five and didn't allow her opponent any points with two 6-0 set wins while
Carvalho played as the number six and won the first set 6-4 and battled for a win in the second set 7-6 with a 10-4 tiebreaker to complete the sweep for the Warriors.
Tech is back in action on Saturday, March 27
th for some more conference action when they host Cornerstone at 12 p.m.
