FORT WAYNE, Ind. –
Agustin Cortes Flores won the match for the men's tennis team today with two 7-5 set victories for Tech to sail past Hillsdale 4-3.
The match opened with doubles where
Brunno Storani and
Juan Avellaneda competed at the number one spot. The pair won 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker followed by
Raybin Chan and
Jafer Infante winning at the number three with a 7-6 win and 7-4 tiebreaker.
Emilio Bowen and
Cortes Flores competed at the two and fell 6-3 for the Warriors to only have a one-point lead heading into singles.
Kayra Kargin was the first Warrior to finish in singles at the number three with a 6-1 and 6-4 win to keep Tech ahead.
Avellaneda competed at the number two and fell 6-4 and 6-1 before
Storani fell at the number one 6-2 and 7-6 (7-4). At the number four,
Bowen lost in three sets before
Chan tied the match with a win at the number six in three sets.
Cortes Flores competed at the number five and closed it out for the Warriors to win 4-3 with two 7-5 set victories.
Tech is back in action tomorrow for WHAC conference play when they host Cornerstone at 12 pm.
