GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Indiana Tech softball team was swept by Aquinas College Saturday afternoon at the Gainey Athletic Complex, losing 8-0 and 2-3.
How It Happened
- The big run for the Saints came in the second with six runs on six hits, with a grand slam hurting the Warriors for the second straight day.
- The Warriors lone hit came in the fourth inning.
- Aquinas scored a pair of unearned runs in the third inning of game two to take the lead, but Tech came back with two runs of their own in the thanks to a single and RBI groundout.
- A double steal of second and home from the Saints in the fourth gave them the 3-2 lead and the Warriors could only muster three more base runners the rest of the game.
- Tech did have the tying and go-ahead run on the base paths in the seventh, but Aquinas got a fielder's choice to get out of the jam.
Tech (9-11) returns to action Tuesday as they host Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. from Warrior Park.
