FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Women's tennis defeated University of Findlay 4-3 on Sunday.
The Warriors opened the singles matches dropping the top two spots before
Marianna Murcia competed at the number three spot.
Murcia beat her opponent 6-3 and 6-0 to kickstart Tech.
Martina Borges won her match at No. 4 6-2 and 7-5 before
Ana Gomez won at the number five spot with two 6-2 set wins.
Thaina Carvalho fell at the number six position.
The Warriors played hard in doubles with
Isidora Hrnjak and
Abigail Simms combining for a victory in the number one position at 6-1.
Vero Jimenez and
Murcia partnered up at the number two and defeated their opponents 6-0 before
Gomez and
Carvalho battled but came up short at the number three. The Warriors won their closest match of the year 4-3.
Tech is back on the court Monday, March 15
th when they host Mount Vernon Nazarene at 12 p.m.
