FORT WAYNE, Ind./INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Men's tennis dropped two matches this weekend falling to conference rival UNOH 4-3 on Friday and coming up short against the University of Indianapolis 5-2.
Against UNOH,
Brunno Storani and
Juan Avellaneda competed at the number one in doubles and fell 7-5 before
Alvaro Gomes and
Agustin Cortes won at the number two 7-5.
Raybin Chan and
Jafer Infante came up a little short at the number three and lost 7-5 giving the Racers an advantage heading into singles.
Infante played at the number one in singles and fell 6-3 and 6-2 before
Avellaneda won at the number two with two 6-4 set wins.
Kayra Kargin dropped and the number three only for
Emilio Bowen to win at the number four 6-4 and 6-3.
Cortes also won at the number five with two 6-1 set victories, but
Chan fell at the number six 6-1 and 6-2 and the Warriors dropped the match against UNOH 4-3.
Against University of Indianapolis,
Storani and
Avellaneda redeemed themselves at the number one in doubles and defeated their opponents 6-3.
Tyler Sinclair and
Cortes paired up at the number two and fell 6-3 followed by
Infante and
Chan falling at the number three 7-6.
In singles, the Warriors fell at the number one and two before
Storani recorded a victory at the number three in a three-set win.
Kargin came up short at the number four while
Cortes won at the number five 6-2 and 6-3.
Sinclair fell at the number six 6-1 and 6-2 and the Warriors dropped their second match of the weekend 5-2.
