FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 2-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team defeated No. 6-ranked Concordia University 13-6 Saturday evening inside Warrior Athletic Field to wrap up the 2021 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) regular season title for the third time in program history.
How It Happened
- Tech struck first with a goal from Samuel Bodley at the 12:25 mark but the Cardinals came storming back with two goals in the next two minutes to go up 2-1 with 10:56 to play in the first quarter.
- The Warriors responded with a 3-0 run over the rest of the first to go up 4-2 and outscored Concordia 3-1 in the second to take a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
- Concordia would not cut the deficit to fewer than three goals the rest of the way as the Orange and Black had an answer with four minutes of every Cardinal goal in the second half to complete a perfect run in conference play.
Tech (14-1, 6-0 WHAC) now awaits a to-be-decided opponent in next week's WHAC Tournament where they are the #1 seed. Semifinal action is set for Friday, April 23 at 7 p.m. from Warrior Athletic Field.
